Neelee was founded in the Fall of 2005 by Tamar Kelman of Los Angeles, and Tamar (Tami) Chomski of Tel Aviv. Cousins through marriage, Tamar and Tami found themselves in New York to support Tami's husband (and Tamar's cousin) as he ran the city's marathon. It was during that visit that the idea of Neelee was formed.
Tamar, a fashion addict with a career background in finance, was raised in L.A., but holds her Israeli identity close to her heart. Tami, an accomplished designer in Israel, leads her life with a passion for sophisticated design, lecturing as a professor at Bezalel Academy of Art & Design and at the Shenkar College of Engineering & Design. Tami also designs jewelry and clothing under her independent label, Studio T. Tami and Tamar combined forces to create Neelee with the mission of introducing to the U.S. the best in design & style from Israel.
